She is an incredible artist, who not only sings but writes all her songs and plays the music.
As a Taylor Swift fan myself, and a frequent traveller, I couldn’t resist the idea of putting together this piece about Taylor Swift-inspired travel destinations.

1. London
🎵 Songs mentioning London: ‘So Long, London’ – The Tortured Poets Department and ‘London Boy’ – Lover
Taylor Swift moved to London in 2016 and was living there while she was dating British actor Joe Alwyn.
She knows the city very well and there are obviously a lot of memories associated with this city.
So much so that it actually made it to several songs including one in her last album, The Tortured Poets Department. In this one, she reflects back on her relationship with Joe.
Before that, London was also mentioned in the Lover song ‘London Boy’. In this one, she sings about riding a scooter in the British Capital and also refers to some cool locations such as Camden Market and Highgate.
2. New York City

The most notable song is ‘Welcome to New York. This synth-pop song is one of the most unique and happiest songs Taylor Swift has ever written.
“Welcome to New York” is the opening track on her fifth studio album, “1989,” which was released in 2014.
It is a very happy song that celebrates the exhilaration and endless possibilities of moving to New York City.
Taylor Swift was inspired by her own experience of relocating to NYC and as you listen to this song, you can really feel her optimism and how magical it felt for her to arrive in a city full of dreams and opportunities.
It’s a song about freedom, being yourself and new beginnings and if you go to NYC that’s exactly what you’ll feel.
There is something absolutely magical about visiting New York City and that song gets it all!
Taylor also mentions New York in the song ‘Holy Ground’ from the album Red. In this one, she talks about her relationships but with NYC as a backdrop. This means the song is not exactly about the city but you can tell how the city influenced her relationships and even the song itself. This is an upbeat song which once again, shows how much she loves NYC.
Finally, there are reference to New York City’s Cornelia Street in the album Lover where she mentioned that cute street in Greenwich Village in Manhattan where she rented a place.
3. Florida

The name of the state is mentioned several times but the only specific place that is named is the town of Destin, which is known for its beautiful beaches.
While there was a lot of speculation about what this song was really about, Taylor said in recent interviews that it was about making choices in your life that you regret and a place where you want to get away.
And what would be the ultimate place to go to if you want to skip town? Florida!
Florida is a beautiful state and while it’s associated with things that are not so good, it’s also an amazing destination to discover if you love beaches, natural springs and theme parks.
4. Paris, France

Paris is known as the city of love and since Taylor Swift is known for singing about love and relationships a lot, it was only normal that this stunning city would make it to a song that happened in 2012 when she released her fourth studio album, “Red.
While Paris is never named in the song ‘Begin Again’, it is obvious that it’s the backdrop for that song.
‘Begin Again’ is about the end of a difficult relationship and the beginning of a new one. And what a better place than Paris to start loving again?
The song refers to cafes that are so typical of the French Capital. It’s also visible in the music video which features iconic sights such as the Eiffel Tower, quaint streets, and riverside scenes.
No matter what, Paris is a city that should be on everyone’s bucket list and I don’t say that only because I’m French. It’s a stunning city and a paradise for couples and art lovers.
5. Upstate New York

This one is from the album Red and mentions driving in Upstate New York with a previous boyfriend.
It’s a nice song that can inspire a road trip in Upstate New York. It has a very autumnal feel as well (and if you saw the cover of the album, I’m sure you’ll agree) so that can be the perfect song to listen to in the fall while discovering the fall foliage in Upstate New York.
6. Tennessee
This one is an obvious one since that’s where everything really started for Taylor Swift. Her family and she moved to Tennessee when she was a teenager so she could pursue her music career.
They were living in a small town near Nashville and still to this day, she has houses in Nashville.
As you know, Taylor Swift is a country singer so the entire state of Tennessee reflects very well the start of her career.
While it’s not mentioned in many songs, it’s still an entire part of her inspiration and you can find some references such as 16th avenue in Nashville in ‘I Think He Knows’.
7. Kansas City
This is a bit of a different one since it’s not mentioned in any of the songs but it’s a very important place for Taylor now.
As you know, her boyfriend (Travis Kelce) plays for the Chiefs in Kansas City so it’s pretty usual to see Taylor at the Arrowhead Stadium during the NFL season.
It was also recently confirmed that she and Travis now live in a mansion in Kansas City so if you fancy a bit of a sporty destination, this is for you!
