If you love everything that has to do with Japanese culture, this one is for you!
Located in Kissimmee, the Orlando Japan Festival takes over the Festival Lawn at Kissimmee Lakefront Park.
There will be traditional performances, martial arts demonstrations, a cosplay contest, hands-on craft workshops and loads of Japanese street food.
Admission is completely free which is always a plus!
It’s a one-day festival. It will take place on Sunday November 8 from 11:00am to 5:00pm.
Please note that while I try to be as accurate as possible, I always recommend checking the official website and socials. Things can change quickly and as much as I try to stay on top of things, it’s not always the case.

🎌 What is it?
This is the 26th edition of the Orlando Japan Festival.
It’s run by the Japan Association of Orlando, a local nonprofit and draws thousands of people every year.
On the stage, you’ll find taiko drumming, including a big group performance called the 100 Drummers, plus Nihon Buyo traditional dance, Koto music and martial arts displays. 🥁
There’s also a cosplay contest which is always good fun.
The food stalls are definitely a highlight. You’ll be able to eat all the best Japanese foods and treats including takoyaki, yakisoba, okonomiyaki, sushi and Japanese candies. 🍡
If you want to have a go at something new, there are hands-on workshops in calligraphy, tea ceremony and origami.
And there are booths selling Japanese crafts and anime merchandise if you want to take something home. 🛍️
Another thing worth noting is that there will be a Grand Raffle. The prizes include round-trip tickets to Japan. ✈️
A portion of the festival’s proceeds is donated each year to the Orlando Japanese Language School, and they gave $5,000 after last year’s festival.
The organizers don’t publish a timetable for the performances, so it’s a turn-up-and-see sort of day rather than one you can plan to the minute.
