New England Halloween Fest takes over Mohegan Sun’s Earth Expo & Convention Center in Uncasville on October 17th and 18th, and it’s their very first one.
They’re calling it an indoor alternative to Salem and Sleepy Hollow, and at more than 145,000 square feet there’s a lot packed under one roof. 🕸️
Think haunted artifacts, a scare zone maze, live pumpkin carving, a witch history exhibit and celebrities from Halloween films wandering about all weekend. 👻

🎃 What is it?
The first annual New England Halloween Fest, a two day indoor Halloween convention run across more than 145,000 square feet.
John Zaffis’ Museum of the Paranormal. Zaffis is the star of Syfy’s Haunted Collector, and he’s bringing over 30 of his most haunted objects for people to see up close. 🔮
The Witch History Exhibit. An immersive gallery telling the story of Alse Young of Windsor, the first recorded person executed for witchcraft in the thirteen American colonies. It’s hosted by Beth Caruso, who wrote the Connecticut Witch Trials Trilogy, with members of the CT Witch Trial Exoneration Project.
Live pumpkin carving by a professional from Maniac Pumpkin Carvers plus a pumpkin patch walkthrough filled with carved displays. 🎃
The Scare Zone, which is a walk through maze.
A selfie area. 📸
Celebrity guests. Announced so far are Isaac Ordonez, who plays Pugsley in Netflix’s Wednesday, and Rachel True, Rochelle from The Craft. 🌟
Two costume contests, one for kids and one for adults.
A movie room showing seasonal favorites, and a panel room with Q&As running all day. There’s also a marketplace of Halloween vendors selling things you won’t find in the shops. 🛍️
