The Wizard of Oz Museum holds over 2,000 artifacts and pieces of movie memorabilia, and it’s open every single day of the year.
If you love the Wizard of Oz, this is a must do in Florida!
There are immersive rooms too, where 360 degree projections put you inside the Tornado, Munchkin Land, the poppy field, the Dark Forest and the Emerald City. 🎬
It’s an hour from Orlando and 10 minutes from Cape Canaveral, so it slots neatly into a Space Coast trip.

🌈 What is it?
A museum built around a collection of over 2,000 Wizard of Oz artifacts and pieces of movie memorabilia, put together by Fred and Palina Trust over more than 35 years. 👠
👗 What’s actually original: In 2022 the museum acquired three original props used in the movie, one of which is an original Dorothy dress.
👠 The ruby slippers: These are not from the 1939 film. The museum describes them as ruby slippers used in Disney’s Great Movie Ride attraction.
📜 Also on display: An original producer’s script, the Lion’s gloves, a spear and an Emerald jacket.
Please note that while this museum has gathered loads of Wizard of Oz items, most of them are not originals from the movies but it doesn’t make it any less enjoyable. 🎞️
The immersive rooms use 360 degree digital projection mapping. The Oz scenes they’ve completed are the Tornado, Munchkin Land, Mice Saving a Lion, the Poppies field, the Dark Forest and A Party at the Emerald City. 🌪️
There’s also an Immersive Van Gogh experience, and a Flying through the Universe scene built around the James Webb Space Telescope. 🔭
🎧 Audio guide: There are QR codes on the cabinets that take you through the history of the Wizard of Oz. The museum recommends bringing earbuds so you don’t distract other visitors.
📅 When: Open every day, 9am to 5pm, 365 days a year. Last admission is at 4pm.
⏱️ How long you need: They recommend 1 to 2 hours, and there’s no time limit on your visit.
