Miami is such a cool city and it’s a paradise for photographers.
It’s home to some of the best beaches in Florida, incredible Art Deco buildings and some of the most colourful and lively neighborhoods in the USA.
Whether you are visiting for a weekend or more, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to things to do.
Miami is also one of the most photogenic cities in the world, and I am not exaggerating.
In this article, you’ll find the best photo spots in Miami, from iconic beach scenes to colorful street art and historic gardens.
Pack your bag and camera. It’s going to be a great trip.
1. Lifeguard Towers on South Beach
📍 Address: South Beach, Miami Beach, FL

This is the most iconic photo spot in Miami, and honestly one of the most iconic in all of Florida.
Nothing says Miami like the colorful lifeguard towers on the beach.
They all have different colors and some even have unique shapes, so it’s worth walking along the shoreline and checking several of them before you settle on your favorite.
📸 Photography tip: If it’s your first time in Miami, you’ll naturally head straight for the first one you see. That’s completely fine, but don’t stop there. Walk along and check at least three stands before you take your photo. You’ll find ones you like far more, and it only takes about 15 minutes.
2. Ocean Drive
📍 Address: Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33139

Ocean Drive is the most famous street in Miami, running right along South Beach through the heart of the Art Deco Historic District.
It’s one of the best places in the world to see Art Deco architecture, with beautifully preserved pastel-colored buildings lining the entire street.
For photos, you really do need to visit twice: once during the day and once in the evening.
During the day, the colors of the buildings are vivid and pop beautifully in the sunlight.
At night, the bars open up, the neon lights come on and the whole street comes alive. You’ll see limousines gliding past, people everywhere and a real electric atmosphere. Stop for a cocktail at one of the outdoor bars and you’ll get some of the best shots of the trip.
3. Wynwood Walls
Wynwood Walls is an outdoor art museum featuring some of the most spectacular murals you will ever see in one place.
It’s colorful, creative and completely unlike anything else in Miami.
If you’ve been dreaming of those vivid, pop-art-style photos you’ve seen on Instagram, this is exactly where they come from.
Once inside, you’ll have thousands of photo opportunities across the open-air space. There’s also a small gallery worth visiting while you’re there.
📸 Photography tip: Wynwood Walls gets incredibly busy. If you want to take your photos without crowds in every shot, go first thing in the morning when it opens. It makes a massive difference.
4. Streets of Wynwood
📍 Address: Wynwood neighborhood, Miami, FL 33127

Most people visit Wynwood Walls and then leave immediately. That’s a mistake.
The surrounding streets are full of incredible street art that most visitors never even see.
Once you’ve finished inside the walls, take some time to wander the neighborhood.
You don’t need to go far. The best pieces are all concentrated near Wynwood Walls anyway, and you’ll stumble across murals, painted storefronts and colorful corners that make for brilliant, more unexpected photos.
There are also a lot of independent shops and cafés that are very Instagrammable in this area.

5. Calle Ocho
📍 Address: SW 8th Street (Calle Ocho), Little Havana, Miami, FL 33135

Calle Ocho is in the heart of Little Havana and is sometimes called the Cuban version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
As you stroll along the street, you’ll find stars embedded in the pavement honoring famous Cuban artists and celebrities.
They make a fun photo, but the real gems on Calle Ocho are the cigar shops.
They are beautifully decorated, full of character and make for some of the most authentic and atmospheric shots you can take in Miami.
6. Domino Park

Just a short walk from Calle Ocho, Domino Park sits inside Máximo Gómez Park and is one of my favourite spots in Little Havana.
The park is an important gathering place for locals who come to play dominoes and chess, surrounded by colorful murals and a real sense of community.
One thing worth knowing before you go: the domino tables are reserved for club members, so you won’t be able to sit down and play. But you can wander around, take in the atmosphere and photograph the beautifully painted boards and the energy of the place.
📸 Photography tip: The best shots are from the front entrance archway. There’s also a square just in front of the park with giant dominos painted on the ground, which is colorful and makes a great photo in itself.
7. Vizcaya Museum & Gardens
📍 Address: 3251 S Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33129
🎟️ Admission: $25 for adults, $10 for ages 6–12
Located in Coconut Grove, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens is one of the most beautiful historic landmarks in Miami and genuinely one of the most photogenic places in the whole city.
The villa itself is stunning, and the formal Italian gardens surrounding it are extraordinary.
There are photo opportunities around every corner, from the grand stone terraces overlooking Biscayne Bay to the secret garden paths and classical fountains.
It’s particularly lovely for couples photos. The whole place has a romantic, almost European feel that’s very hard to find in Florida.
The entrance fee is worth every dollar, and you’ll want to give yourself at least a couple of hours to explore properly.
8. Miami Design District

The Design District is one of Miami’s most interesting neighborhoods for photography, even though it’s completely different in character from the Art Deco streets of South Beach.
This is a luxury fashion and contemporary art district, full of bold architecture, eye-catching installations and uniquely designed buildings that look incredible in photos.
The most striking landmark is the Buckminster Fuller Fly’s Eye Dome, a large geodesic structure that you simply cannot miss. It makes for a spectacular photo.
Beyond that, just wandering the streets here gives you endless opportunities. The facades of the boutiques and galleries are all designed to stand out, and the whole area has a very sleek, modern energy.
