Heading to Florida in November? How exciting! This is one of the best times of the year to visit the Sunshine State and you can be sure to have a good time!

But when it comes to packing, it can be hard to make decisions. November is usually a cold month in the rest of North America and Europe so it can be difficult to know what to pack. Well, I’ve got you covered!

November is one of the best months to visit Florida, with pleasant temperatures, lower humidity, and fewer tourists compared to peak holiday seasons which come around Spring Break time.

Whether you’re heading to the theme parks in Orlando, lounging on the beaches of Miami, or exploring the Everglades, you’ll want to be prepared for warm days and cooler evenings.

In this guide, I’ll walk you through everything you need to pack for your November trip to Florida, ensuring you’re ready for both beach days and sightseeing adventures.

What is the Weather Like in Florida in November?

Florida’s weather in November is generally warm and comfortable, with much lower humidity compared to the summer months. Rain is less common in November, and hurricane season is coming to an end, making this an ideal time to visit.

Temperatures can vary slightly depending on where in the state you’re visiting:

  • Northern Florida (Jacksonville, Tallahassee): Cooler, with daytime temperatures ranging from 14°C to 23°C (57°F to 73°F).
  • Central Florida (Orlando, Tampa): Daytime temperatures range from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F), with cooler evenings.
  • Southern Florida (Miami, the Florida Keys): Warm and sunny, with temperatures ranging from 19°C to 28°C (66°F to 82°F).

As a general thing, it’s important to understand that the weather is nice and warm but it can be a bit chilly in the evening (or sometimes even during the day) so you shouldn’t go for a full summer outfit, you will need some light layers.

Essential Packing List for Florida in November

Below is the perfect packing list for your November trip to Florida. It includes everything you may need for beach days, sightseeing and visiting the theme parks.

Clothing

  • T-shirts and tank tops: I recommend short-sleeve tops since it’s warm during the day and even at night it’s not cold enough for long sleeves anyway. Ideally, try to take breathable fabrics such as cotton to sweat less.
  • Shorts: they are also great to wear during the day, especially if you are going to the beach.
  • Long skirts or long dresses: Since it’s warm but not hot, longer skirts and dresses are ideal.
  • Jeans: Again, you might appreciate to wear jeans, especially in the evening when the temperature drops. Paired with a nice top, they will look great! No need to take too many pairs though, one should be enough.
  • Swimwear: Bring a swimsuit or two for the beach, hotel pools, or water parks. You’ll still find warm weather and plenty of opportunities to swim.
  • Beach Cover-Up: A lightweight cover-up is perfect for transitioning from the beach to a beachside restaurant or exploring coastal areas.
  • Evening Layers: Pack a light sweater, cardigan, or jacket for cooler evenings, especially if you’re in northern or central Florida where temperatures can dip at night.
  • Light jacket: Something like a jean jacket is ideal in Florida, especially in the evening.
  • Activewear: If you plan on visiting theme parks or doing outdoor activities, bring comfortable, moisture-wicking activewear such as leggings.

Footwear

  • Flip-Flops: Perfect for the beach, poolside, or casual outings.
  • Comfortable Walking Shoes: If you plan on exploring theme parks like Disney World or Universal Studios, comfortable walking shoes or sneakers are a must for long days on your feet.
  • Water Shoes: Great for water activities, boat trips, or walking on beaches (a lot of them have mangrove roots)
  • Dressy Sandals or Flats: For evenings out, pack a pair of dressy sandals or flats that are stylish yet comfortable.

PRO TIP: Make sure to break in your shoes before the trip! Florida’s theme parks require a lot of walking, so comfort is key.

Accessories

  • Sun Hat or Cap: The sun in Florida is strong, even in winter so make sure to take a hat to protect yourself.
  • Sunglasses: A must-have for protecting your eyes from the bright Florida sunshine.
  • Beach Towel or Sarong: A quick-dry towel or sarong is perfect for beach days or lounging by the pool.
  • A microfiber poncho: This is ideal to change into your bikini and dry off after a swim.
  • Water Bottle: Carrying a reusable water bottle is always handy especially in Florida since you’ll drink a lot.

Electronics

  • Phone & Charger
  • Power Bank
  • Camera
  • Waterproof Phone Case: Great for protecting your phone during water activities such as kayaking or SUP.
  • International Adapter: If you’re coming from outside the U.S., bring an adapter for type A and B outlets.

Paperwork

  • Passport & Copies: If you’re travelling from outside the U.S.
  • Travel Insurance Documents
  • Hotel Reservation & Itinerary
  • Bank Card + Travel Money Card: Consider a card like Revolut or Wise to avoid high currency exchange fees.
  • Theme Park Tickets
