Visiting Haworth in West Yorkshire with your dog soon and wondering what are the best things to do?
I’m here to help! As a dog owner myself who has explored Haworth with my dogs, I can tell you that you’ll be in for a treat.
Haworth is a very dog-friendly town and there are quite a few things you can do with your dog in Haworth.
1. Brontë Waterfall

If you’d like to take your dog for a good walk, head to the Brontë waterfall.
This is quite a well known natural landmark since it was one of the sources of inspiration for the Brontë sisters but also an excellent place to visit with your dog.
To get there, you can park at Penistone Hill Country Park and take the walking path to the waterfall from there.
There are also some paths that go through the moors if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous.
The entire loop takes between 1h30 and 2 hours to complete. It’s very scenic and a pretty easy hike.
Please note that in summer you need to keep your dog on the leash because there are sheep.
2. Main Street

Haworth Main Street is the most famous street of all. If you’ve seen photos of Haworth, they were probably taken there.
It’s a very pretty street since it dives down so you can see the houses on the side and the moors in the background.
Obviously since that’s a public street, you can come here with your dog and walk all the way down. You’ll see a lot of shops on the way and quite a few of them are dog friendly as well.
3. Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Steam Train

If you love old steam trains, then this will be perfect for you! The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway is a 5-mile long train journey that takes you around Brontë Country. It stops in Haworth but goes from Keighley to Oxenhope.
It runs every day but the timetable changes so you need to check on their website when they are running.
Dogs are allowed on the train so you can go with your pooch and explore the worth valley.
4. Cabinet of Curiosity

The cabinet of curiosity is a shop located at the top of the main street. It’s such a cute shop with an antique vibe.
In all honesty, it actually looks like something straight out of Harry Potter. You could definitely find this shop in Diagon Alley.
Inside, there are various items such as candles, soaps and beautiful editions of famous books including the main books from the Brontë sisters.
The shop is dog-friendly so feel free to walk in with your pooch but if you have a large dog, I’d be careful, the aisles are a bit narrow so it’s not that convenient. With a small dog though, it’s perfect.
5. Cobbles & Clay

Cobbles & Clay is a café and tea room on the main street. It’s one of the best places to eat in Haworth and they are dog-friendly.
You can go there for lunch but also just to get a snack and drink. They have delicious cakes so that makes for the perfect break.
You don’t have to book but it can get a bit busy at the weekend so it might be preferable.
They also offer painting workshops and activities so it’s a good option if you want to do something creative.
6. Central Park

Central Park is located at the bottom of the main street and it’s a small city park where dogs are allowed.
While this is not the biggest of parks, it’s very cute and there also is a playground which is handy if you are visiting with kids.
You can walk around the park and head back to the main street or go to the station from there.
