They are a 90-minute session called Reindeer School.
The whole group learns about the animals together first, then you head out to the pasture.
Over Christmas they run a bigger version of it, with a walk down Candy Cane Lane, a Nice List certificate for every child and a mailbox for letters to Santa.
Be warned, it’s mostly outdoors and this is northern Vermont in December which means you need to dress warm, and wear boots.
It’s about 1.5 hours from Montpelier, making it an excellent winter day trip.
Please note that while I try to be as accurate as possible, I always recommend checking the official website and socials. Things can change quickly and as much as I try to stay on top of things, itβs not always the case.

π¦ What is it?
Vermont Reindeer Farm is a small family farm located in the NEK.
The farm is run by the Broe family and it’s their actual home, which shapes how a visit works and is why you need to book in advance.
They only run one tour at the time which is why they ask you to turn up on time (being late holds up everyone else).
They have 4 reindeer.
Two of the reindeer, Aurora Vixen and Prince Charming, are Alaskan reindeer.
Aurora Vixen is the youngest of the herd. π¦
Reindeer aren’t the only draw.
You’ll also meet Maple Annie and her fallow deer sisters, and on the standard visit you get to feed them graham crackers. π¦
But that’s not all, they also have mini donkeys, ponies, mini goats, Highland cows, chickens, ducks and peacocks.
The gift shop sells local Vermont products, and they say a lot of it is made on the farm itself. π
