Men in kilts throwing cabers, and the band from the Titanic soundtrack playing live…in Florida? Yes, it’s happening!
The Deltona Celtic Festival & Highland Games takes over Dewey Boster Sports Complex for one day only, on Saturday November 14th, about 30 minutes from Orlando.
Gaelic Storm are headlining, and if the name doesn’t ring a bell, they’re the band playing at the steerage party in Titanic. 🎶
And the best part about it is that it’s $10 for adults and completely free for anyone 17 and under.

🎻 What is it?
A full day of Celtic culture put on by the City of Deltona, and it’s built around three things happening at once.
The Highland Games athletics are the spectacle. That’s the hammer throw, the caber toss and the rest of it, all done by competitors in kilts. 💪
Then there’s the Highland dance competition, which runs four traditional dances. The Highland Fling, the Sword Dance, the Seann Triubhas and the Sailor’s Hornpipe. Judges score on technique, timing, posture, arm movements and deportment. 🏆
And there’s live music going all day across the site.
Away from all that you’ll find a clan village with heritage displays, kids activities and interactive experiences, plus food and vendors. 🍀
🎶 Who’s playing: Gaelic Storm, Kilmaine Saints, Ennis Pruitt, Tuatha Dea and the Byrne Brothers, an Irish family band from Donegal who are now based in Orlando. Set times hadn’t been published when I wrote this.

You can enter the athletics for $40, which covers your entry and a shirt. There were 45 spots and you can register right up until 8am on the day. Kilts are required. 🥃
The dance competition is $25 and includes entry, but that one closes earlier, on October 31st.
